The Becker Map Pilot is a satellite navigation system that is installed in a range of Mercedes cars. It is easily integrated into the car, can be removed for safety and upgrading, and it offers a choice of speech control or console control. Maps and the latest features can all be updated by plugging the Becker Map Pilot into your computer and downloading the most recent updates. If you are buying a replacement, or are looking to install a new satellite navigation system in your car, do ensure that the Map Pilot is compatible with your make and model of vehicle. The Map Pilot integrates into the car so there?s no need for awkward looking satnav holders. This keeps the dashboard and console of your car looking tidy and clean. Once installed, the unit will work through speech control or it can be operated through the console o the device, within the car.One of the benefits of being able to remove the Becker Map Pilot is that it can then be plugged into your computer or laptop for upgrading and updating. This enables you to install the latest map updates, and it also makes it simple to install the latest software and features for your device, before replacing it.The Becker Map Pilot integrates into the car itself, and this means that it is not compatible with all vehicles. It is used primarily in Mercedes cars, but not in all models and ranges, so do check to ensure that the device is compatible with your car before purchasing.
Hi Dob1811, I sent the following email, will post their response.
Hi,
I’ve recently purchased a Mercedes A class that came with Becker navigation. I’ve downloaded and installed the content manager and when I try and use it the software does not detect the Becker device.
I have read on forums that there is a compatibility issue with the latest version of OS X (El Capitan). Is there a work around and when will this issue be fixed.
Kind Regards,
David.
